MiniRoos (U8-U11)

Summary

Football Brisbane has three levels of competition for MiniRoos Komodo Dragons, Goannas and Geckos.

Komodo Dragons is an advanced league in which Football Brisbane ask clubs to select players of a higher ability to play against each other. Trials will be held and players will be assessed at the trials on merit according to their current skills and abilities. This will be done by a selection panel appointed by the club. Once the trials have been concluded the Club will inform all players of whether they have been selected to join the Komodo Dragons team.

All other player will be placed into either Goannas or Gecko’s. There is also a Development Program that is on offer for player that wish to join.

MiniRoos (U8-U11)

MiniRoos is a smaller version of football that provides boys and girls aged 8 - 11 with a fun introduction to the world game. MiniRoos is designed for kids; it is all about having fun, learning new skills and making life-long friends.

Delivered by grassroots clubs across Australia, MiniRoos provides opportunities for boys and girls of all abilities, shapes and sizes to play football. Ipswich City Football Club MiniRoos Program includes:

  • 29 week program
  • 1 x 60 min training session per week
  • 20 x matches
  • Football Brisbane fixtures
  • Facility maintenance to provide excellent training and playing surface.
  • Full club membership

Komodo Dragons

We are looking at taking it forward to Football Brisbane higher division Komodo Dragon groups for the 2020 season for our under 9/10/11.

There is an aditional academy levy which includes the following:

  • Bulls Training Kit (shirt, shorts and socks)
  • All coaches have minimum Skill Training Accreditation
  • 35-week program
  • 2 x session per week of SAP coaching
  • Striking the ball / First touch / 1 v 1 / Running with the ball
  • Skill driven training game to increase players game knowledge
  • Extra fixtures approx. 4-6 match days (opponents could be SAP team, out of zone Komodo teams)
  • 3 local carnivals (Carnivals are additional cost)
  • Football Brisbane fixtures
  • Facility maintenance to provide excellent training and playing surface.
  • Full club membership

In summary 35-week training season, FB games plus additional games, Approx. 25 games + carnivals. Full training kits included.

Where is MiniRoos?

Training: All training session are at Sutton Park
Matches: Matches are split between home and away. Home matches are at Sutton Park. Away matches are generally within a 30min drive from Sutton Park, including but not limited to:

  • Oxley United (Oxley)
  • Springfeild Untied (Springfield)

What do I wear for matches (games)?

  • The club playing shorts and socks are avaliable to purchase from the Canteen.
  • The playing jersey will be provided by the club. These are to be returned to the Coach or Manager after each match.
  • Shin pads and football boots.
  • Please bring your own drink bottle.

About Our Club

Ipswich City Soccer Club, "The Bulls", was formed in 1975 with five teams and 70 players, drawn from all parts of Ipswich City, although most of them came from Leichhardt, Brassall & surrounding areas. The first committee meeting was held on 16th Feb 1975. The committee voted Noel McCool as President, Pam McCool as Secretary & John Hohnke as Treasurer. Mrs Jones was also voted President of the Ladies committee. Committee members voted were: Joe Korhecz, Ray Jones, Barry Roberts, Brian Hartwell & John Stains.
